Prom Attire Update!

Okay, so of course, when Prom is here, I'll upload pictures from it, but until then, you only get sneak peeks at what I'm wearing!

Hollow Bib Necklace - Amazon

I'm trying gold accents! I know that the gold necklace and sandals seem very different shades, but the necklace will be more antique looking in person. Perfect, me thinks!
Also, last night was my last lacrosse game which we lost in reality, but we definitely won spiritually! We have become a family, and I'm so thankful for all the time I've had with these girls. I especially will miss my coachy-poo! I love her, and she has truly been a key ingredient to  my success. I will keep you posted on my prom attire, but for now, I will go sulk in my sadness of graduating and leaving my lax ladies.

Makeup Monday: Bronze & Blue on Thursday for you!

If you want to know how to do this, leave a comment, and I might leave a tutorial!

Tuesday Tips: Bye, Bye Razor Bumps!

The weather is getting warmer, and the sun is shining brighter! That means one thing...Summer is coming! Summer and bikinis go hand in hand for a girl, don't you think?

Okay, so I found this dusty old book in my basement the other day that hold very many beauty tips and secrets, hehe. So I skipped around and flicked through and found something that caught my eye. And now you can thank that little book for this week's Tuesday Tip!

I don't usually get razor bumps, but let's be honest...around those bikini areas, all girls do. So I found a solution that is all natural and works great!

WHAT YOU NEED:
 - 1 teaspoon of sea salt (or sugar)
 - 2 teaspoons of coconut oil

WHAT NEXT?
 - Mix the sugar and oil together! But not enough for the sugar to dissolve.
 - Once combined, apply the mixture to desired bikini areas to prep the skin for shaving
 - Rinse off completely BEFORE shaving

Why these ingredients?
Well, lucky for you the sea salt (or sugar) acts as an exfoliant and the coconut oil soothes and calms the skin.
So don't be afraid of those bumps anymore, ladies! Feel great and comfortable in your own skin!

Makeup Monday: Wings to Fly With

So basically all I used was...

* White Eyeliner
* Black Liquid Eyeliner
* Black Eyeshadow
* Black Mascara

Pretty simple. And a lot like Amy Winehouse's makeup.
Happy Monday!!

Rhapsody in Blue

Shirt - Thrifted
Sweater - Century 21 (forever ago)
Jeans - Levi's
Boots - Old, don't remember

Sorry about the awkward white spots on my jeans. I worked with a lot of clay today, trying to efficiently finish my teapot!!
I have been wearing jeans a lot because I'm realizing that all my girly clothes aren't all that extravagant, and don't match much of my wardrobe. I'm beginning to blank on outfits ideas, which is kind of like writer's block. No worries though! I still have some tricks up my sleeve, and hopefully ideas pour out of my brain soon.

Another apology for not posting much. Life has been working in busy ways for me these past few weeks, and now it's time to catch up!

The rain is lightening up, which is a good sign, because...
I love spring.

THANKS SHANNON FOR TAKING PICTURES < 3

Pennsylvania Welcomes You

Happy Belated Mother's day! We went to pick my sister up form college, and stopped in Pennsylvania for Mother's Day lunch/dinner. It wasn't my best day, but then again, I've been having a pretty strange week.

Makeup Monday: Gatsby Gold

This look was inspired by the film the Great Gatsby. Gold obviously represents riches. Voila!

Tuesday Tips: What is Your Acne Telling You?

A lot of things in life are signs, in some way or another. So why should it be different in acne terms? Have you ever noticed a weird pattern that your acne has at certain points on the year or month? Well, maybe it's your internal organs trying to tell you something! After speaking with a health nut, I discovered the new (well actually very old) science of face mapping! I'm surprised more people don't know about this, because of how old and commonly it's been used! It was definitely the first time I heard about it! Dermatologists use this and the causes are quite accurate! So after quite a bit of research,and yes, all from liable sources, I've put this together to tell you a bit about face mapping. Sorry for the bad drawing, but I did it on my GIMP program, and it was the first serious attempt of drawing with a mouse pad, haha!

1 & 2: Digestive System — Eat less processed or junk food, reduce the amount of fat in your diet, step up water intake and opt for cooling things like cucumbers.

3: Liver — Cut out the alcohol, greasy food and dairy. This is the zone where food allergies also show up first, so take a look at your ingredients. Besides all this, do 30 minutes of light exercise every day and get adequate sleep so your liver can rest.

4 & 5: Kidneys
— Anything around the eyes (including dark circles) point to dehydration. Drink up!

6: Heart
— Check your blood pressure (mine was slightly high) and Vitamin B levels. Decrease the intake of spicy or pungent food, cut down on meat and get more fresh air. Besides this, look into ways to lower cholesterol, like replacing “bad fats” with “good fats” such as Omegas 3 and 6 found in nuts, avocados, fish and flax seed. Also, since this area is chock-full of dilated pores, check that your makeup is not past its expiry date or is skin-clogging.

7 & 8: Kidneys
— Again, drink up! And cut down on aerated drinks, coffee and alcohol as these will cause further dehydration.

Zone 9 & 10:
Respiratory system — Do you smoke? Have allergies? This is your problem area for both. If neither of these is the issue, don’t let your body overheat, eat more cooling foods, cut down on sugar and get more fresh air. Also keep the body more alkaline by avoiding foods that make the body acidic (meat, dairy, alcohol, caffeine, sugar) and adding more alkalizing foods like green veggies and wheatgrass juice. Another thing that most of forget – dirty cell phones and pillow cases are two of the top acne culprits and this area is what they affect the most!

Zone 11 & 12: Hormones
— This is the signature zone for stress and hormonal changes. And while both are sometimes unavoidable, you can decrease their effect by getting adequate sleep, drinking enough water, eating leafy veggies and keeping skin scrupulously clean. Another interesting point: breakouts in this area indicate when you are ovulating (and on which side).

Zone 13: Stomach
— Step up the fibre intake, reduce the toxin overload and drink herbal teas to help with digestion.

Zone 14: Illness
— Zits here can be a sign that your body is fighting bacteria to avoid illness. Give it a break, take a yoga class, take a nap, take time to breathe deeply, drink plenty of water and know that everything always works out!

So the next time you break out or notice dark under-eye circles, look to your face map: your skin is probably trying to communicate on behalf of the internal organs. However, do remember that, as with all medical issues, it is always best to see your doctor or dermotologist for a proper prognosis. This is just a general guide to head you off in the right investigative direction – just because you break out between the brows doesn't always mean you have a bad liver!
Stay free, beauty queens!

Makeup monday: CINCO DE MAYO!

 CINCO DE MAYO!!

I know it's a day late, but hey, not my fault that it didn't land on a Monday!

So if it wasn't obvious, I based this look off of the holiday Cinco De Mayo, and the Mexican flag. The colors are red, green, and white, therefore, I made the eye makeup that way!

I remember the first time that I ever actually heard of this holiday, and I was 13 years old and I was in Washington D.C on a school trip. It seems pretty rad, but I didn't actually celebrate this time around. I guess that makes sense considering I'm not in the slightest Hispanic. hahaha.

Honestly, if you think this is a bit too dramatic of a look, just don't add the green wings at the corners of the eyes, because once those are gone, it still looks nice, but just more wearable. I had to heighten the contrast, only because the red wasn't caught all that well on my camera, and it was a pain in the butt trying to get it to show up more without making the picture a higher contrast. IWell, happy belated Cinco De Mayo, and happy Monday!

Flower Power

Skirt - OLD OLD OLD
Belt - Thrifted
Necklace - WNY Spiral Dance Vendor
Watch - Mom's jewelry Box
everyone else's outfits - MY CLOSET! (hehe)

So today was super super fun! I love these girls. They are by far my best friends. The weather has been so incredibly nice that we just had to go on a picnic! But of course, before we did that, they raided my closet! AHH! haha, I have enough clothes to spare, but my lovely ladies will be sporting some "Kelsey's Closet" apparel soon, hehe. Not my idea, more like Anna's. We took so many goofy pictures so I tried to put the nicest ones on this blog so we didn't seem to weird. Of course, you've probably already seen a good amount of my strange personality, hence the "biting a flower" picture when we were goofing around. ahaha, sorry for not blogging as much as usual! Life can get in the way sometimes.

HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO!
